According to our list of the top car insurance providers, Geico came in at #3. Furthermore, the average insurance premiums at Geico are often far lower than the national average. Despite having average insurance prices that are higher than Geico’s, Progressive ranked in the bottom third of the list. An analysis was used to determine the prices shown here. Your actual insurance premium might be more or less than this estimated range, based on factors like your driving record, the sort of car you drive, and other similar factors. According to our poll, Geico customers are more satisfied with their rates than Progressive customers. When we asked policyholders how likely they were to refer their insurance company to friends and family, Geico came in at #2.
Our customer service, claims, loyalty, and renewal sub rankings put Progressive in second-to-last position, and its customers ranked them even worse. Approximately 52% of Geico insurance customers generally report being “very happy,” rising to 56% after filing a claim. As few as 44% of Progressive policyholders felt this way before making a claim, and just 41% of policyholders still did so after making a claim.
When it comes to customer care, Geico is superior. After factoring in customer satisfaction both during and after a claim, Geico was placed higher than Progressive in our customer service sub ranking.
When asked about their experience with Geico’s new policy process, 69% of customers overall and 73% of claim filers were happy. After filing a claim, Progressive customers were only 63% as pleased as they were before they filed a claim, despite the fact that 70% of customers were highly satisfied with the new-policy procedure. Only about half of Geico’s customers are happy with the company’s customer service, but that number increases to almost seven in ten among drivers who have made a claim. In the meanwhile, just half of Progressive’s customers report being entirely pleased with the company’s customer service options, and that number rises to only 62% among drivers who have made a claim, one of the lowest ratings of all the firms in our poll.
In terms of customer loyalty, Geico is superior. If a motorist has never filed a claim, Geico is more likely to be recommended. In comparison to Progressive’s 35%, respondents to our Geico survey stated they were “extremely likely” to refer us. The percentage of people who would suggest Progressive after a claim was almost the same as before the claim (34%), whereas the percentage who would recommend Geico after a claim skyrocketed to 49%, maybe because of their focus on the client. After filing a claim, a motorist with Geico has a higher likelihood of renewal (55%) compared to a driver with Progressive (42%).
It’s easier to file a claim with Geico. When compared to Progressive and much other insurance, Geico’s drivers are pleased with the way their claims are handled. Compared to Progressive’s 57%, Geico’s 70% of happy policyholders are ecstatic with the outcome of their claims. When compared to Geico’s 74%, Progressive drivers’ 58% satisfaction rate with the convenience of filing a claim and Geico’s 66% satisfaction rate with status updates is disappointing. One claimant who participated in our survey had this to say about Geico’s customer service representatives: “I never have to wait long if at all, to reach anybody.” Another person said, “…every time someone inquired how I was doing following the accident. As a sign of their concern, they brought the automobile to me before even looking at it.
